In my Gambler prep we’ve replaced the left radius arm (paid a shop), power steering lines, bearings, pads, and rotors (all DIY). The end result is thus far we’ve driven about 900 miles without issue. Currently slicing our way through North Dakota!
The American Racing wheels look sweeeeeeet on the truck, but unfortunately 29 inch tires are too much tire for 5th gear. The truck will do 80 in 4th but only 60 in 5th with the 29s. We ended up throwing the drive wheels in the bed and we’re running two stock wheels for the highway.
We’ll mount the ATs back on at camp. Aside from the OG we also want to hit up Yellowstone and maybe possibly California?

T here are some awesome and out of the way places in southern oregon an northern california. I highly recommend the shasta/klamath/southern oregon cascasdes. So incredibly beautiful. You’ll be clo se as i think the OG is in christmas valley/chemult/gilchrist area again this year?
Check out Lassen park and W arner M ountain if you go to CA . Crater lake is a must. And of course the redwoods on the N california coast are incredible. I’d recommend to go to Steens mountain in far SE Oregon if you’re more in it for the desert. T here is an incredible hot spring on the edge of the playa on the east side of the mountain.
And since you’re in ND, if you do come in or leave through the NE corner of OR go to the eagle cap wilderness outside of Joseph. Its jaw dropping, just incredible. And Terminal G ravity Brewing is up there too , good stuff.
Good luck!

The big buffalo! We used to stop each time drove through there as kids. That and the giant clown in New Salem. Have a safe trip and enjoy the views!

Sooooo much to see in this state... and Oregon. The whole West Coast, really. You could travel here for a month (without work obligations) and still have things left unchecked on the list of awesome places to go.
As someone who grew up in the Mid West and has now been in California for a decade... I still have a lot on my list to see and do.
